Transitions: Fears from Change to Death

Transition can mean several different things. It can mean change; it can mean we are going through a different phase in our lives; or it can mean the ultimate transition, death. There seems to be a lot of fear around ‘transition’ and ‘change’ and maybe there is something in the word ‘transition’ that brings up our wounded child who is afraid of the unknown. For me the month of June brought with it the end of a cycle of ‘transitions’ over the past year and with the end of a cycle of ‘transitions’ perhaps I am seeing things more clearly and am more able to face other transitions yet to be without the same kind of anxiety I may have in the past. My brother was buried June 30th 2016; my cat Jasper transitioned Oct 1st, 2016, and finally my mother transitioned and was buried June 28th 2017. They say bad luck comes in threes but for me these three transitions were symbolic of a deeper message around letting go. The power of three huge occurrences that happened in one year suggests to me that my life has been completely reborn into something new. My being reborn is like a transition toward freedom. I have an opportunity to see the world anew and look at what is most important to me and maybe to look at what I have been afraid to do and allow the Universe to show me something I can’t even imagine. THAT would be most important to me, that act of just allowing myself to change how I look at the world and that would help bring about change or transition in me that is freeing. So there really is no need to fear change.

I often wonder why we fear change and the unknown. If we believe our Soul is eternal then there is no change – like the transition we make from this world to another at what is called ‘death’ – that is ever really unknown. No major transition could possibly happen to us that we haven’t already experienced and therefore we should hardly fear it. Even death, albeit most difficult for the ones left behind, is just a transition to another state of BEing … and we get to go ‘home’. What could be better than that?

What I was finally able to heal by the end of this transitions episode was my abandonment issue, as central to my understanding with the most recent passing of my mother. And I wasn’t triggered in ways that I have been. So as my mother was preparing for her transition – that came on very quickly and surprisingly – I was able to hold space and quickly come to terms with her passing. I know she is free and with that I too have a greater freedom than I have ever had.

The journey began with my brother, who I was holding as he began his ascension. And I believe my sweet boy Jasper allowed me to dive deeper into this sacred wound and with the bringing of my adorable girl Angel I was finally able to see just how immortal our souls are; as she was the combination of the three most important beloved pets (human carers) in my life.

So then the question remains: what is it about change, transition, and the unknown that we fear so much? While preparing for my interview with Paul Selig – that had to be rescheduled because of all the time I spent with my mother as she was transitioning – I realized just how powerful the present moment is and I became very aware of some ‘truths’ that I may have known on a mental level but never truly felt on a BEing level.

As an aside I must say that I’m very much looking forward to this interview with Paul, an interview that has been rescheduled for Sept 12th. He is writing a very powerful trilogy. The Book of Mastery was released in 2016 and The Book of Truth: The Mastery Trilogy came out in mid-2017 and the third is to be released next year. I highly recommend any of his books but the first two of his new trilogy profoundly affected me. There are very powerful words and initiations that lie within these channeled words.

So back to my question: ‘what do we fear?’ I believe this is a question we must explore deeply within ourselves as it could be the answer – and a way – toward healing our sacred core wounds. To me the answers and healings occurred while reading and feeling Paul’s transformative words. These powerful and changing words affected me possibly more than even my personal trilogy of events that occurred this past year. I believe these events signaled an important phase in my life and maybe were the catalyst to personal healing but I also believe I have been being prepared for this particular change moment throughout my whole life. I feel reborn! Awakened in a way I have yet experienced. And it is through my continuing to explore all the different ways fear affects my life.

I also have the opportunity to work with some beautiful souls who are trying to understand their own core wounds. Through working with others I can often see more clearly what they need to do and it assists me to heal and BE clearer within my own triggers. The motto that I try to live by is: ‘Lead By Example’. When someone I know or work with is going through something I know on deeper levels it is something I am learning about myself and before recommending different options I ensure I live them first and foremost. This enables me to heal many of my issues that are more easily triggered. Some issues clear up even without direct experience. Still others become clearer because I now understand past experiences from a deeper place.

I believe the way to understand our issues the most is by detaching ourselves from the intensity or the emotional charge of the experience and the way we can do this is by reviewing our experiences. “Remembering the Light Within” is another incredible book from the Hulnick’s who I interviewed last month. The book offered some excellent thoughts that can help you if you are open to seeing things from a different perspective such as:
  • Our spiritual curriculum is to heal our unresolved issues;
  • Unresolved issues are anything that disturbs our Peace;
  • Unresolved issues are not bad; they’re simply part of our Spiritual Curriculum;
  • Unresolved issues are blessings, as they are opportunities for Healing and Awakening;
  • The work of Healing, or resolving unresolved issues, is spiritual work and is a major aspect of what Spiritual Awakening is all about; and
  • Observing Both our Inner and Outer Choices as we are the only one who can choose our attitude toward how we relate with ourselves, others, and the situations and circumstances in our life.
  • Will it be judging or accepting, criticizing or prizing? This last question is very important. Can we come from a place of unconditional love, acceptance and compassion towards ourselves and others?
The universe and our eternal Soul offer us infinite opportunities to heal our unresolved issues. If we don’t heal an issue it will be repeated until we can – even if it takes several lifetimes. This is the beauty of this physical reality. However, we must be open to fully embracing these teachings and pursuing the only true goals each life holds, to awaken to the present moment, acknowledge our choices of fear over love and know we are in charge of our story to truly heal and change our perception of our experiences: simple but not easy. And yet I feel I have overcome some of my deepest sacred wounds in my own trilogy of transitions that have taken place around me over the past year. The answer to understanding the ongoing transitions that seem to constantly flow around us lies within and can be revealed by the continuous pursuit of our Awakening. Walk with me (or run since everything seems to be at warp speed) as we take this path together.

From Me to Unconditional Love and Acceptance

This past month I have been very aware and focused on something that I have been discussing with Tom Campbell (and others) and writing about for the past couple of years: How to come from a place of unconditional love and acceptance. We often are too focused on how others affect us or when something happens; we unconsciously look at how it impacts us. An example would be when interacting in a relationship and there is a conflict we automatically look at what this conflict means to us. We take whatever the conflict is personally and we react personally and this means we react from a place of ego. We allow what is happening to trigger us emotionally and we perceive it from a pattern that has created a story in our lives.

Let’s give this even more meaning and look at it from a pattern of abandonment as this is a trigger most people understand. So we are engaged in a conversation with another person – and this could be any relationship although an intimate relationship often has more of a charge to it – and one of us gets triggered first and that often leads to the other person also getting triggered. Now we first have to understand that both of us have grown up having different experiences which leads to having different triggers and that leads to having different stories that we have created. Our experiences define our lives by the age of seven. By the age of seven we do not have an emotional understanding of our experiences and we don’t consciously understand what is happening to us. However our brain likes to clump our experiences together so that our ego can protect us from being hurt. Let’s understand that by the age of seven nothing is fully processed and our pain and fears are very uncomfortable. We make assumptions and beliefs from these experiences and this leads to a story being created around abandonment that may not even make logical sense at this later point in our lives. However this experience continues to trigger us because since the age of seven we have had plenty of experiences that have been clumped together that have added to our understanding of abandonment. We have had friends, family,  partners and co-workers and others leave us in some way that we have interpreted as abandonment – even when it is just an interpretation or perception that they have left ‘us’.

Now, moving forward 20, 30, 40, or 50 years and we engage in a relationship that is triggering someone else or still triggering ourselves. We unconsciously interpret it as abandonment. We get triggered or we trigger someone else who then triggers us and we react. We react the same way as we did when we were seven. We might not have a temper tantrum like we did when we were two but the emotional impact, the emotional charge, is the same. We perceive this as something happening to us personally. We experience this event as the same ‘story’ we have created and we react mostly unconsciously from a place where this hurts. We react!

If we are on a path that is evolving towards love this requires us to not take anything personally – especially things that impact us negatively – but rather for us to move into a place of unconditional love and acceptance.  To evolve towards love we must consciously understand and see when we want to first react and then, instead, take charge of our personal view of the situation. We want to become aware of our emotions. When we are with another and we are sharing a conversation with that person or even sharing space and they get upset we typically go into survival mode and our ego looks to justify, blame or judge who is right or wrong. When someone does something we don’t like or want, we automatically add this experience to our story and our ego is in charge. We have to understand that every single person has their own story that was created by the age of seven. Everyone has their own issues, their own ego, their own pain, fear and suffering that is ‘real’ to them.

We have to be able to ‘see’ our automatic reactions as what they are. Then we have to be able to ‘see’ the person in front of us as also having an automatic reaction. And this is where it gets interesting; this is when we can make a choice. The first choice is: do I come from a place of ‘me’ and how is this affecting me? Do I automatically justify, blame and/or judge this situation or person as abandoning me? Do I add this to my story of abandonment? Or can I step outside of my initial response and make another choice? Can I then look from a place of ‘other’ and see that no matter what is said or done that this person actually believes they are trying to persevere through their pain and their own abandonment story? They are trying to do what is ‘right’ for them and it is just ‘their’ story when they get triggered. They are justifying, blaming and judging the situation based on their own experiences and story created by the age of seven.

On this path towards evolving towards love we can become more conscious by knowing that whenever we are triggered or feeling uncomfortable that this is just a reaction to a story or experience we had in the past. Then we can really ‘see’ and hold space for another while we are with them. We can create a safe space of consciousness and acknowledge that when someone reacts it really has nothing to do with us and instead of reacting to our emotions, we can allow those emotions to get provoked without our reactions or these emotions getting in the way. We can learn a great deal about the other person when we don’t go into reaction mode with them. We can change our story and stop or heal our unconscious reactions. Plus, once we can hold space and BE from a place of consciousness we can see the “other’s” fears and triggers. We can sit with them and not feel our own pain and fear. We can stop the pattern or our reactions and come from a place of ‘truth’ as we understand that both the pattern and/or our reactions are triggered and our reaction and the other person’s reactions are not rational but from a perspective of a young child who doesn’t understand. This gives space for everyone to come from an authentic place and not automatically react. It offers a ‘safe’ place, something that not everyone has experience with. Let’s give them a safe place. It will be good for all of us.

My focus on choosing not to be triggered by myself or others this month was a wonderful opportunity for me to understand this concept from a place of expansion and awareness. It was an opportunity for me to see how others can get triggered because they are only coming from a ‘me’ place. These experiences have allowed me to quiet my anxiety and quietly hold authentic space for another person to BE and for me to see the bigger picture and move towards my evolution towards Love!  You may want to take this upcoming month and focus on the same thing and see how your understanding can expand. Perhaps creating a ‘trigger journal’ where you write down every day what has triggered you and see if you can chose to not get embroiled in the emotion but rather observe it and see it from a perspective of unconditional love and acceptance. Happy Awareness!

Happiness – Consciousness of Relationships

This month I really didn’t know where I wanted to go with my Blog nor my interview on Apr 25th with Tom Campbell. However I had a few areas that were showing up within my readings with different authors who’s interviews are coming up (like Paul Selig – should be a fabulous interview in June) and from my interactions with some of my followers. So I had my interview with Tom and things really flowed during our interview around ‘happiness’ and ‘conscious relationships’.

The issues that were arising were around our relationships and how we continue to justify our fears by looking at the ‘other’ instead of understanding that we are responsible for everything that happens in our lives. We continue to worry, get angry, and justify our reactions because of someone else. It isn’t easy to authentically see that our ‘unhappiness’ is not because of someone else but because we have a fear that makes us feel insecure, unheard, insignificant or abandoned. It appears clear to us that these people or things that happen are why we are unhappy and we don’t remember that every event is really an opportunity for our own growth. Every time we have a negative response (or even a positive response) we are adding to our story of our lives. We are creating the definition that we have actualized as our identity. We want to blame our unhappiness on someone or something or believe we will only be happy when we can ensure that everyone else is doing what we need them to do. So we justify feeling unhappy because someone or thing has made us unhappy.

If we knew that the Larger Consciousness System (Tom’s wording for Higher Consciousness) is here to help us to grow. If we knew that everything has a purpose in our lives to help us grow towards ‘love’ then is it possible to allow all of these experiences to be ‘seen’ as opportunities to let go of our fears? And these experiences are also to acknowledge that no matter what happens the other person is truly being the ‘best’ they can BE and that they are not doing something to hurt us or create anxiety or pain in our lives. Rather it is our own perceptions that create the pain and unhappiness in our lives. It is our own Ego that needs to justify these experiences because it needs to be ‘right’ instead of happy.

We are ‘infinite Divine Beings’ that are having a human experience to Evolve our Consciousness towards Love. We grow when we are ‘relating with others’ and it is only when we can let go of this need to blame or accept the ‘story’ of our lives as a victim can we truly step out of our patterns of fear being perceived by us. If we truly desire to ‘grow up’ and get out of the pain and unhappiness we have established as who we are then we have to begin accepting unconditionally that the pain and unhappiness isn’t coming from events or others but from our own fears within; our own beliefs and our own story of who we believe we are!

We have just forgotten who we are. We aren’t our fears. We aren’t this ego identity that we ‘believe’ is who we are. We are not just a child, parent, spouse, an education or an occupation etc. that we think about when someone asks us who we are or what we do. We are a ‘Divine Being’ who has chosen to incarnate as a Human Being to evolve towards love. We are not separate yet we have individuated consciousness to ‘Remember’ who we are and to choose to expand our consciousness towards unconditional acceptance and love of Self and ‘others’. We are more than our experiences and our fears.

Our relationships are our mirrors to understand our own consciousness. We are allowing our stories to trigger and dictate our unhappiness and add this unhappiness to our story with all the “what’s and why’s” that the ‘other’ person does to hurt us, instead of working on changing OUR story and changing our fears that create our story and unhappiness.

Instead we focus on each situation as a separate event that continues to justify our ‘story’: reappearing as a pattern. This belief we hold about who we are is just a fabrication that confirms our fears. Let me give an example: a person we have a relationship with says something that triggers us, out of their own fear they say something that makes us believe they are betraying us, abandoning us or alluding to the fact that we aren’t significant enough to… (you fill in the blank). It may be a fear that someone isn’t being honest and upfront with you, or maybe someone is appearing aloof and distant, like they don’t care. The ‘mirror’ we are meant to understand is that this is ‘our’ fear and we haven’t shifted it if we can still justify BEing unhappy or blaming another. We instead just take this experience and add it to our ever increasing ‘story’ of who we believe we are.

So how does this relate to ‘Happiness’? Well, like everything in this life, we tend to focus on what we don’t want instead of BEing happy inside or allowing our Divine Essence to express itself, we are allowing our fears to continue to dictate our story; our unhappiness. We can’t seek ‘happiness’, it has to BEcome our intention to Evolve towards Love. It is only through our intention to grow that we will uncover that our ‘happiness’ has been here all along. We have the ‘choice’ to examine our fears and accept these fears as opportunities to mature and BEcome the Love that we already are. Our ‘happiness’ isn’t something that is ‘out’ there, but it is who we are as Divine Beings.

Learning through our relationships: having conscious experiences when our fears present themselves are the only way we can experience conscious relationships, experience Love and remember who we are. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to BE happy and have conscious relationships. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to NOT see the Divine within and experiencing more compassion and acceptance (even when I have epic failures) with mySelf. Let’s choose to initiate these changes by remembering who we are; Divine Beings having a human experience.

House Blessings

It isn’t just the economic times that impacts home sales.

Have you ever walked into a room and felt like something was wrong? Perhaps you felt the air was thick, as if you could almost feel an argument that occurred there many hours earlier? Do you sometimes walk into a house that feels ‘off?’ It’s a place where you start to feel anxious and can’t wait to leave. Maybe you’ve somehow sensed a room in your own home just doesn’t feel the same as the rest of the house, causing you to avoid it.

These are signs indicating that a home may need to be cleared and blessed. House blessings are widely accepted and offered through many religious and spiritual groups today. In fact, there seems to be an upsurge of people buying St. Joseph statues; people have recognized the need for blessing, and have bought the plastic statue (over the internet or otherwise), then buried it upside down in their front garden before entering the house. Even though prayer, meditation and intent can assist greatly in the blessing and clearing of a home, if you don’t know what to do, or how to do it, the effects will be greatly diminished. A professional house-clearer and blesser knows what to do, and can assist in preparing your house to be sold – even during tough economical times.

Dr. Masaru Emoto provides scientific proof of how what we think manifests in the physical world through an experiment that uses molecules of water. His book, “The Hidden Messages of Water,” continues to receive critical acclaim and much acknowledgment around the world, and his work was used in the film What the Bleep do we Know? .

What puts Dr. Emoto at the forefront in the study of water is his scientific proof that thoughts and feelings affect physical reality. By producing different focused intentions through written and spoken words, and literally presenting these to the same water samples, the water changes its appearance. He took microscopic photos of frozen water molecules after taping the words “You make me sick”, compared to the phrase “love and gratitude” (among many others). What the frozen molecules showed was that our negative thoughts and feelings do not create a crystal snowflake-like pattern as positive thoughts produce, but rather show incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors. If our thoughts and emotions can impact water so dramatically, what do you think they do to our bodies?

So what does this prove and what does it have to do with our homes? Our bodies have an energy-field, and this energy-field holds our thoughts, our emotions and our intentions. The movie The Secret explores the Law of Attraction and the effect that our thoughts and beliefs have on our reality. Our energy-field can be quite extensive and extend farther out from our bodies than we realize. Have you ever driven home, completely absorbed in your thoughts and experiences? Maybe you’ve been so caught up in your thoughts, you aren’t even sure how you got home.

This is a perfect example of how we are often living unconsciously. Now think of road rage; we are just driving a long, feeling fine, when we get cut off, or are put behind a very slow-moving vehicle. This situation often creates anger and frustration, the sorts of things that aren’t normally part of your everyday activity or emotional state. This is owing to the fact that in a populous city, our energy gets mixed with that of others, and as we are unconsciously driving around, we may enter into a situation or area where road rage occurred moments – or even hours – before. We get caught up in the energy of someone else, or in the energy of road rage itself. Consider your work environment: if your work area has many employees, it will hold many different energies, emotions and thoughts. We can feel the grief of a friend or colleague when someone has just passed away, or the anger and frustration when someone has been fired or had a spousal fight that morning.

If someone who projects their thoughts and emotions into a glass of water can impact a water molecule, consider how all of our thoughts and emotions have been building up within our homes. Now lets take into account our current economical crisis that is not just North American, but global. Think about how this energy is being compounded dramatically. We have a lot of homes right now experiencing the effects of this anxiety and fear.

Along with financial considerations, homes can hold other negative energies to things that may have been building for quite some time. Divorce is an energy that is full of emotion and impacts the way you feel and think. A difficult financial situation can create a lot of anxiety both individually, and as a family. What about all of the thoughts and emotions of the home’s past owners? Sometimes there are other energies that may haunt a home too.

It’s equally worth understanding that there are energy lay lines (which some refer to as geopathic stress) that intensify emotions and create an unstable and fluxuating energy. In the Beach area of Toronto, there is an underground water flow that when it flows under a home, can increase the intensities of emotions expressed there.

Similarly, earth lay lines connected to the magnetics of a geographical area, air lay lines, that seem to be from air plane routes and even fire lay lines when your home is built near an active or inactive volcano can impact your emotions or cause unstable and fluxuating energy. All of these problems can be balanced and cleared.

Our homes are meant to be our safe haven. To bring peace and comfort after a long day at the office. Yet we may be contributing to the build up of negative energy by not being able to let go of our daily stressors and clear and balance our own energy on a daily basis. People are like sponges. As each sponge can hold only so much water and then reaches a point of saturation, every person can hold only so much of negative energy or thoughts. After the saturation point is reached, the excess energy must flow somewhere. Where does the energy go? Into our house!

A house blessing and clearing can help to eliminate the build-up of the these emotions and thoughts. Some people have been trained to connect with these energies, and release them into the cosmos. This can be necessary during stressful economic times such as these, because when a potential home buyer walks into a home, they are looking for the feeling of comfort a home brings. The decision to buy a home often rests on how it makes a person feel. Having a house blessed will ensure that your potential buyer is thinking about how great a home they can make out of this house
