Keeping your Energy Clear

What a summer this fall has been! Caught in a heat warning for the past week I have been examining how we deal with our life and energy. This past week especially – near the end of the Heat wave we experienced – I felt slammed energetically between being over worked and being drained due to the extreme heat.  We all have times in our lives when things impact our energy and sometimes even on a daily occurrence. When life happens and we get caught up in it, our fears tend to get triggered and we may not even realize it and we go on autopilot where we are reacting to life instead of responding. Once we go on autopilot we don’t have any control over our reactions and this will trigger our fears. Although, we are never in control, we can be in charge of our responses except when they are automatic – meaning we need to be present and aware of our energy and our fears. We need to make a choice to not let our fears over take our life. However, it isn’t always easy to see how our energy – or the energy of others – is creating more fear in our lives. Sometimes we don’t realize what is happening until we sit in reflection and examine what has been going on in our lives. If we learn how to keep our energy clear we wouldn’t get slammed nor react to life but respond. We would know when life is happening and determine whether it is our own energy or the energy of another that is impacting us. Therefore, we can make different choices on what the next move is to make us feel better.

So what can we do when, sitting in reflection, we realize something isn’t right? I will give you all the benefits of why having a personal or home clearing can be very helpful at that time: because sometimes we just need to explore our own options and eliminate things in our life that interfere or keep us blocked.

The benefits of having a home clearing can be found here. The benefits of a personal clearing will allow us to remove the cords (emotional and ethereal) that have been holding us back, most often from prior to the age of 7 when most of our patterns, behaviors and stories were created. Because we had a physical umbilical cord nourishing and nurturing us as fetuses, we create etheric cords that act in similar ways to most people in our lives, our family and intimate partners and to some extend co-workers, bosses and friends as well. A clearing allows us to start anew and change the old cords, patterns and stories that have become outdated from our childhood so that we can truly rebuild our foundations and create stronger ones. Either way – whether you have me do it, have someone else do it or you do it yourself – you still have to do the work yourself because everything happens within and nothing happens unless you allow it to.

So, what can we do ourselves? There are many things we can do before bringing in a professional and this will also assist you if you decide that you can’t do it on your own. Meditation, prayers (see links to some prayers I recommend) disciplines, commitment, music, crystals etc. – these can all assist us to keep clear. Choose an approach to keeping clear that resonates with you … and find your way. Find practices that still the mind, body, and spirit so you can hear the gentle guidance of the heart. Examine your reactions because how you respond in certain situations will help you understand yourself better.

Uncover how your limiting beliefs/habits/stories are holding you back and keeping you stuck. Reviewing these go a long way in understanding how you cope with life. Becoming aware of your reactions and responses to others helps you determine what responsibility you have – or are sharing – with your energy: are you blaming others, making judgements, needing to be ‘right’ to satisfy your ego? Are your emotions hijacking you? What are your stress triggers? There are so many questions that will help you understand what is influencing your energy. Once you determine what is influencing you the determination will assist you in becoming more aware how you are coping and what is affecting your energy. However, if you are always shifting it outside of you, please know that this is your Ego and you need to accept responsibility for your life and energy. Everything always comes from within you.

Here are some further tools that will assist you. When you learn how to shift from your head to your heart you can move towards acceptance, non-judgment and witness consciousness. This isn’t easy but it is simple. You learn to trust and accept everything as Divine in your life. When you can Live in Present Moment Awareness you can make breakthroughs as this is the only time you have the power to change anything in your life. Learning to break through your patterns and reactions to be in charge of your responses helps you to understand how things are impacting your energy. Trusting your Intuition and your Innate Inner Guidance is a wonderful tool to hearing that gentle voice within. Expressing your Authenticity, the natural soul essence of who you are, will allow you to BE who you are meant to be and grow towards the Divine essence of You.

In the book that was published “the Realities of Creation” – in my chapter on the Power of the Heart – I explored these tools and also offered ways to assist with understanding who you are. Obviously our energy and keeping it clear has to do with how we are showing up in our lives. Our internal and external queues affect how we relate in the world. Everything impacts our energy. Yet simply observing our thoughts, our behaviors, our patterns and stories will assist us to keep our energy clear.

One of the big things is remembering that this life is just one piece in the puzzle that is our soul. So we really need to give ourselves a break, be gentle on ourselves – and others – and create more awareness. We also need to take actual ‘breaks’ to refresh our energy and stop worrying about things so much like getting out my newsletter on the first of the month.

As I was reviewing a report the other day it was reminding me that not only a good night sleep was important but also relaxing and taking physical breaks from life are needed – and not just the ones that distract us like binging on Netflix. Following our intuition – especially when it reminds us that everything is Divine! And finding ways to be non-attached to outcomes and thereby letting go of the emotional charge with which situations present themselves to us. This doesn’t mean we are unauthentic or are somehow bypassing our lives.

But in all of us let’s remember that breathing is far more important than we usually realize. I recommend Heart Breathing and will be creating a post on this, with an audio meditation to assist (it will be linked to this blog when complete). And lastly, and it is really key to all this: get clear about what you really want. Often we just know what we don’t want but that’s not enough because these are very different things!

I also want to offer some things that can remove or shift your actual physical energy in this article about Energy Clearing. I often recommend having a salt water bath: putting two cups of salt into the bath water will energetically clear one’s physical body. This will have an effect similar to swimming in the ocean despite the fact that this is a luxury that most don’t have. Burning a beeswax candle for three hours is very good for your home and for your body. Using a Tibetan or crystal bowl or drumming can clear both house and person. Creating an alter for prayers in your home is a way of creating a discipline and intention within your home for honoring your Inner Self. Reading an inspiring book can shift your energy. Going for a walk on the grass or earth – barefoot – is great for grounding any energy in your body and while you do this imagine the earth accepting your energy almost like a waterfall moving through you – or imagine the energy going down through the roots of your inner tree.

Everyone has their own way to get their energy clear and often it is triggered by recognizing that there is a problem first. Sometimes we are so embroiled in life we are too caught up to see how it is affecting ourselves. We can always offer up everything to the Divine within us – or outside of us – (as long as we believe this will work) and Let GO. What is your way of keeping your energy clear? Let’s play together.

Transitions: Fears from Change to Death

Transition can mean several different things. It can mean change; it can mean we are going through a different phase in our lives; or it can mean the ultimate transition, death. There seems to be a lot of fear around ‘transition’ and ‘change’ and maybe there is something in the word ‘transition’ that brings up our wounded child who is afraid of the unknown. For me the month of June brought with it the end of a cycle of ‘transitions’ over the past year and with the end of a cycle of ‘transitions’ perhaps I am seeing things more clearly and am more able to face other transitions yet to be without the same kind of anxiety I may have in the past. My brother was buried June 30th 2016; my cat Jasper transitioned Oct 1st, 2016, and finally my mother transitioned and was buried June 28th 2017. They say bad luck comes in threes but for me these three transitions were symbolic of a deeper message around letting go. The power of three huge occurrences that happened in one year suggests to me that my life has been completely reborn into something new. My being reborn is like a transition toward freedom. I have an opportunity to see the world anew and look at what is most important to me and maybe to look at what I have been afraid to do and allow the Universe to show me something I can’t even imagine. THAT would be most important to me, that act of just allowing myself to change how I look at the world and that would help bring about change or transition in me that is freeing. So there really is no need to fear change.

I often wonder why we fear change and the unknown. If we believe our Soul is eternal then there is no change – like the transition we make from this world to another at what is called ‘death’ – that is ever really unknown. No major transition could possibly happen to us that we haven’t already experienced and therefore we should hardly fear it. Even death, albeit most difficult for the ones left behind, is just a transition to another state of BEing … and we get to go ‘home’. What could be better than that?

What I was finally able to heal by the end of this transitions episode was my abandonment issue, as central to my understanding with the most recent passing of my mother. And I wasn’t triggered in ways that I have been. So as my mother was preparing for her transition – that came on very quickly and surprisingly – I was able to hold space and quickly come to terms with her passing. I know she is free and with that I too have a greater freedom than I have ever had.

The journey began with my brother, who I was holding as he began his ascension. And I believe my sweet boy Jasper allowed me to dive deeper into this sacred wound and with the bringing of my adorable girl Angel I was finally able to see just how immortal our souls are; as she was the combination of the three most important beloved pets (human carers) in my life.

So then the question remains: what is it about change, transition, and the unknown that we fear so much? While preparing for my interview with Paul Selig – that had to be rescheduled because of all the time I spent with my mother as she was transitioning – I realized just how powerful the present moment is and I became very aware of some ‘truths’ that I may have known on a mental level but never truly felt on a BEing level.

As an aside I must say that I’m very much looking forward to this interview with Paul, an interview that has been rescheduled for Sept 12th. He is writing a very powerful trilogy. The Book of Mastery was released in 2016 and The Book of Truth: The Mastery Trilogy came out in mid-2017 and the third is to be released next year. I highly recommend any of his books but the first two of his new trilogy profoundly affected me. There are very powerful words and initiations that lie within these channeled words.

So back to my question: ‘what do we fear?’ I believe this is a question we must explore deeply within ourselves as it could be the answer – and a way – toward healing our sacred core wounds. To me the answers and healings occurred while reading and feeling Paul’s transformative words. These powerful and changing words affected me possibly more than even my personal trilogy of events that occurred this past year. I believe these events signaled an important phase in my life and maybe were the catalyst to personal healing but I also believe I have been being prepared for this particular change moment throughout my whole life. I feel reborn! Awakened in a way I have yet experienced. And it is through my continuing to explore all the different ways fear affects my life.

I also have the opportunity to work with some beautiful souls who are trying to understand their own core wounds. Through working with others I can often see more clearly what they need to do and it assists me to heal and BE clearer within my own triggers. The motto that I try to live by is: ‘Lead By Example’. When someone I know or work with is going through something I know on deeper levels it is something I am learning about myself and before recommending different options I ensure I live them first and foremost. This enables me to heal many of my issues that are more easily triggered. Some issues clear up even without direct experience. Still others become clearer because I now understand past experiences from a deeper place.

I believe the way to understand our issues the most is by detaching ourselves from the intensity or the emotional charge of the experience and the way we can do this is by reviewing our experiences. “Remembering the Light Within” is another incredible book from the Hulnick’s who I interviewed last month. The book offered some excellent thoughts that can help you if you are open to seeing things from a different perspective such as:
  • Our spiritual curriculum is to heal our unresolved issues;
  • Unresolved issues are anything that disturbs our Peace;
  • Unresolved issues are not bad; they’re simply part of our Spiritual Curriculum;
  • Unresolved issues are blessings, as they are opportunities for Healing and Awakening;
  • The work of Healing, or resolving unresolved issues, is spiritual work and is a major aspect of what Spiritual Awakening is all about; and
  • Observing Both our Inner and Outer Choices as we are the only one who can choose our attitude toward how we relate with ourselves, others, and the situations and circumstances in our life.
  • Will it be judging or accepting, criticizing or prizing? This last question is very important. Can we come from a place of unconditional love, acceptance and compassion towards ourselves and others?
The universe and our eternal Soul offer us infinite opportunities to heal our unresolved issues. If we don’t heal an issue it will be repeated until we can – even if it takes several lifetimes. This is the beauty of this physical reality. However, we must be open to fully embracing these teachings and pursuing the only true goals each life holds, to awaken to the present moment, acknowledge our choices of fear over love and know we are in charge of our story to truly heal and change our perception of our experiences: simple but not easy. And yet I feel I have overcome some of my deepest sacred wounds in my own trilogy of transitions that have taken place around me over the past year. The answer to understanding the ongoing transitions that seem to constantly flow around us lies within and can be revealed by the continuous pursuit of our Awakening. Walk with me (or run since everything seems to be at warp speed) as we take this path together.

What keeps you up at night?

This month I went to Trudy Van Buskirk’s network meeting Women Entrepreneurs Building Businesses  in the Beach to meet up with author Suzan St Maur. It was a workshop on writing blogs. My favorite piece of advice was “what keeps your clients awake at night”. This is what I have pondered for the past few weeks.
For me it isn’t what keeps me up at night, but what wakes me up and keeps me up in the early hours of the morning.

When I think about you, my clients/friends, and myself, I know that financial problems keep us awake. Although, it isn’t so much the lack of funds as it is the bills!! We think about love, although, again not so much the wonderful things going on as much as the problems. I have had issues with PAIN, however, pain becomes a much bigger issue as well. There is physical pain, emotional pain, and mental stress. (It isn’t too often that we lie awake curious of our spiritual journey; although, that is a great conscious meditation.)

Physical pain can definitely keep you awake, but where does it come from? And why is it there? Emotional pain and mental stress are probably the biggest areas we fret about. That pretty much covers all relationships from our family, to our friends, to our colleagues and our romantic relationships.

I believe it is safe to say that what keeps us awake, is not loving matters, but fear! Fear seems to be the culprit if we want to give it one name. I’m sure there are times when we are excited about something, but if it keeps us awake, it is likely due to projecting fear of the unknown or anxiety about something; which again, is really just fear!
Our fears come in many different colors and names, but if you can take it down to one thing, and see the spectrum as love on one side and fear on the other, whatever you name it; it will ultimately be a fear. Anger, anxiety, stress, jealousy, doubt, frustration, depression, guilt, shame, grief, envy can all be seen as a fear, because they come from our experiences in our early childhood that created a core value or belief that fears something. It may be abandonment, feelings of unworthiness, being misunderstood, judged, rejected, powerless, feeling unsafe – the list goes on. Each of us has a unique belief that we have chosen to work on in this life and our experiences in our childhood set the tone for our repeated patterns.

I think what I would like for you to contemplate is what keeps you awake at night (or early morning hours)? I would like to assist you in these areas. I would like to guide you to see that your focus is on your fears, and how once you start worrying about something, you aren’t actually focused on the solution. And the middle of the night, will not allow you to solve anything. A great way that I have learned to find solutions is to write it, or think about it prior to going to bed and either allow my dreams or in the in-between hours (the time right before you fall asleep or right as you are waking up) answers come to you. At one of my lowest times, I decided that I had focused so much of my energy on my fears, that I used a new technique; I downloaded several series of books and decided that I would just read, instead of worrying. This did several things, it allowed me to delve into my imagination far better than movies or Netflix could ever do (they were large novels of approximately 1000 pages, so it would take me a day to finish each one and move onto the next, I didn’t have time to think about my problems); and it shifted my focus from worrying to an exciting journey; a journey that may have been somewhat predictable, but had many interesting twists. What it did was change my energy completely. Instead of being focused on what wasn’t working in my life, I was able to delve into someone else’s life! And because our imagination doesn’t know what is real it began to believe that I was no longer having financial difficulties, because all the books I was reading were of successful eccentric people and it shifted my emotions of lack to excitement.

These two suggestions have really helped me, reading straight for a couple of weeks is quite extreme, but I needed an extreme change in my life and way of thinking and this provided me with the shift. However, for most working on our dreams and using the in-between time will be effective and is how I discover my answers now. I can assist you to uncover your answers as well. This can happen through my intuitive guidance and through coaching to align our three brains, our gut is predominantly in charge of making us feel safe (an issue we often associate with fears). Let me know what keeps you awake at night!
